The marvel of old masters: Rembrandt, Goya & dürer

March 30 - May 04, 2024

A travelling exhibition of wood carvings, engraving, and woodcuts from three giants of art history: Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669), Francisco Goya (1746-1828), and Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528). This exhibition is presented on loan from the Park West Museum.

TAM is pleased to present the special exhibition The Marvel of Old Masters: Rembrandt, Goya and Dürer, beautifully curated by Leigh R. Hendry, which showcases more than 60 engravings, etchings and woodcuts—created by Rembrandt, Goya and Dürer—three of art history’s most celebrated masters of these complex mediums.

The artworks, on loan from the Park West Museum, Southfield, MI, have been drawn from the Museum’s extensive collection of works on paper. Featured themes from the oeuvres of the three masters include: portraits, depictions of famous biblical stories, philosophical topics, and societal commentary, as well as several of the self-portraits for which Rembrandt was renowned.
